~85% of all people are stupid, don’t give a fuck and also lack the capacity to understand global, domestic or economic systems and policy. this has been consistent throughout every society, not just ours. ~85% of people only give a fuck about knowing what they need to get by.

the real US predicament is predicated on our democracy being gamed by people that need just market themselves and exploit the fears and dependence to dupe these 85% and rise to the upper echelons of power in our system.

imho our education system isn’t robbing our children of opportunity or knowledge of truths (especially in the 21st century, with info technology being as prevalent as it is), our cycle of parental apathy perpetuated by the ~85% of dumb fucks that raise kids these days is robbing our children of their will to pursue knowledge.

people also lack critical thinking. we live in a culture of opinionative fervency and extremes. instead of people realizing that truth often lies somewhere in the middle, á la Occam’s razor, people draw conclusions that match their political sensibility that they adopted through the influence of others, instead of thinking for themselves.

the answer isn’t dumb fucks banding together and hoping for a cumulative cultural intelligence. the answer is in people being accountable and feeling responsible for guiding themselves, their families, communities and children to intellect and prosperity. if everyone did that we’d make societal progress.
